![]() ![]() I thought I saw something about Rum flights. Drinks: They have a limited beer selection which isn't bad. Overall the food was pretty run of the mill, nothing to get you excited about and definitely nothing to bring you back. I also ordered beer bread, which was also lacking in flavor. ![]() When I finally did get fries they were thin and crunchy and lacking in taste. (Please, Maryland restaurants, stop putting old bay on EVERYTHING, maybe try something else for a change). I had a burger for dinner, and it was average, run of the mill. That is unless of course your plan is to save on the cost of chips by only putting 15 in the bowl which they did. They came in a bowl which is without a doubt the dumbest idea on how to serve nachos. We plan to return for happy hour in the near future and partake in a couple of rum flights and apps. They specialize in rums which plays off the pirate theme nicely. There are a couple of TV's-three(?)-but it is not a sports bar. The long L-shaped bar had only a few individuals eating brunch. The tables were about one-half occupied at mid-day with only a couple of kids so it was fairly quiet. We ate everything, except our potatoes, but we took them home with us. We both found the home fries to be tender but lacking in flavor, unlike the rest of the food. My wife had the Captain's Breakfast which included rye toast, a large portion of home fries, four strips of bacon (I ate 2), and two perfectly cooked, fried eggs. The creamed chipped beef had a smooth texture and was topped with sliced green onions-a nice touch. We ordered cream chipped beef which was served on wedges of Texas Toast and accompanied by a large helping of spicy tater tots. The drinks were very fresh and tasty and large enough to last through our meal along with a glass of water. (They relocated in the last year from Glen Burnie to Lake Shore Plaza.) We arrived at noon for brunch and had already planned to order a Bloody Mary and Mimosa to start out. ![]() I would definitely recommend giving it a try if you are looking for a unique and fun place for food and drinks. We are relatively new to the area and have been looking forward to going to the Mutiny ever since we tried their crab soup at a local Rotary Club Crab Soup Cook-off. Occasionally the service can be a bit slow, but overall is usually great. It can also be very loud at times but that is to be expected as this is a bar/restaurant. The lighting is dim in some areas of the restaurant making it slightly hard to see. Cons: It can get very crowded at times, particularly on Wednesday nights for trivia. They have a loyalty card and a rum passport program where you can earn free food and swag. Pros: Delicious food (the Tropical Caesar with Tuna is my favorite). Let me start off by saying that Mutiny is located in the middle of a neighborhood so don't think you gotten lost if you're only seeing houses along the way! We come to Mutiny quite often as it is in walking distance from our house, which is great when you've had one too many! On average we visit about 4-5 times per month. This trip was not worth the over $30 that it cost us. If you are looking for lunch, don't go here the menu is limited because of the "brunch". It took over 30 minutes to get our "brunch" and it was not crowded. There was very little bbq sauce on it but the bottom roll was a little mushy so maybe it was on the bottom and soaked in. The shiver me tender sandwich was chicken tenders with cheese, and a guava bbq sauce, no tomato. There was a huge pile of peppers in it so that's what was in the bowl when we were done. The ropa vieja had spicy beef on it with onions, potatoes, peppers and two fried eggs. All of the food on the brunch menu except for the appetizers have a fried egg on them but I ordered without the egg. We then ordered a ropa vieja and the shiver me tenders sandwich. We ordered water and it took 10 minutes to get a glass of water. My suggestion would be that you give people a brunch menu and ask if they want to see the alcohol menu not everyone wants rum or beer with brunch. They took us to a table and gave us a brunch menu, a rum menu and a beer menu. No one paid attention to the fact that we came in the door until my lunch buddy asked if we were to seat ourselves and then we were told to wait a minute, they would be right with us. First, the place is dark with a dark tile ceiling that is slightly hanging in spots. We stopped in for lunch on Sunday but apparently, they only have brunch. ![]()
